Participation in the B.F.F.S. (Beneficial or Fostering Future Struggles) Study has now come to a close. The study examined the role of friendships in the development of adolescents ages 13–17, with a focus on how differences in friendship experiences influence teen mental health and stress management. Findings from the B.F.F.S. Study are expected to contribute to new insights and strategies for building strong, supportive friendships in teens.
Participants completed an initial study visit that involved approximately 2 hours of surveys and brief tasks on the University of South Carolina campus. Six-month follow-up surveys are currently being completed via email (30–45 minutes), and data analysis is underway.
Recruitment Status: The B.F.F.S. Study is no longer recruiting participants.
